Washington, DCThe AFL-CIO Investment Trust Corporation joins the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust and the entire labor movement in acknowledging the passing of Rod DuChemin on May 14, 2021 at the age of 81. Mr. DuChemin was a card-carrying member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) for 66 years. After many years of service to the BAC, Rod came to work for the AFL-CIO Investment Trust Corporation’s predecessor in 1994 and spent more than 25 years serving the AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust, ensuring that the fund’s 100% union labor policy was upheld at each of its properties around the country.

“Rod spent his entire career fighting for working people and strengthening the labor movement. I am proud to have called him a role model, a mentor and a friend,” said Randy Kinder, President of the AFL-CIO Investment Trust Corporation. “We join the HIT, the AFL-CIO and the entire labor movement in mourning Rod’s passing. His family should take great pride in the legacy he has left behind.”
